If there is one thing I would leave with you, it is this: marriage is hard, but divorce is harder. Choose your marriage. Fight for your marriage because of what is true: Matthew 19:5-6 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” We want to honor our marriage because of Christ’s covenant with us.

We have asked the Lord for forgiveness for breaking the covenants in our past, and we have also had to choose to believe that Christ’s forgiveness is sufficient to wash over and heal any shame that can linger from our past decisions. That can be a daily battle because of the real hardships we experience daily within our blended family, but God meets us in that battle when we call out to him.
