Membership Process

Our mission: to be and make disciples.

During our four-step Membership process, you‘ll learn what it means to be a Member here at Watermark. Hint: It has nothing to do with being ‘in’ a physical church, but all about being The Church.

You’ll also get an overview of the equipping, serving, and connecting opportunities available to help you grow in your faith, meet other believers, and get involved.

Why Membership Matters

You can review your membership status here.

Step 1

Discover

To begin the Membership Process, listen to Discover Watermark to learn our vision, values, and ways to get connected.

  1. Listen to Discover Watermark.
  2. Confirm that you have listened to the entire Discover Watermark audio.

Step 2

Commit

Completed Discover Watermark? If so, you’re ready for our two-part Membership Class.

In this step, you'll complete the following:

  1. Register for and attend Membership Class.
  2. Submit your written testimony.
  3. Share your testimony verbally with someone from our team.
  4. Sign Watermark’s Membership Covenant.

To review or update your progress through this step, view your membership status.

If your circumstances prevent you from being able to attend class in person, please contact us.

Step 3

Serve

Part of Membership at Watermark is participating in regular, gospel-centered service. We believe this reflects the biblical expectation that Christians use their gifts to serve others (Romans 12:6-8, I Peter 4:10-11).

To complete this step, do the following:

Step 4

Connect

We’re big on community. So big that it’s our middle name. We believe authentic relationships lead to spiritual transformation.

In community we are known, loved, cared for, pursued, encouraged, and challenged to be more like Jesus. We’re here to help you find that.

Membership FAQ

What is my Membership status?

You can always view your progress in the Membership process by visiting your Membership Status page.

Can I be a Member of Watermark if I don’t live in the area?

Over the years we’ve been asked, “If I do not live locally/near a Watermark campus can I still become a Member?” Because we are passionate about the local church, we believe that you will be best shepherded by the leadership of a local church where you can be ‘all in’ by serving, actively participating in community, and gathering weekly to corporately worship in an area near you.

If you need assistance getting connected to a local church body close to your home, please contact us for assistance.

Can I be in a community group if I’m not a Member of Watermark?

The fourth and last step in Watermark’s Membership process is joining a community group. We ask that those participating in a Watermark community group are Members.

Because of the leadership structure at Watermark, we believe this is the best way to shepherd our local church body.

Can I serve in a ministry that isn’t part of Watermark?

Yes! Watermark currently partners with multiple ministries local to Dallas and across the globe. For more information in regard to serving outside of Watermark, please email externalfocus@watermark.org.

How do I sign up to share my verbal testimony?

After you have completed Membership Class Part I, you will be assigned a host who will listen to your story of grace. The host will then reach out to you to schedule the meeting.

If you have not yet heard from your host and have completed Membership Class Part I, please contact the Believe Team.

What if I can’t attend in person?
