I was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, but by age seven, my family had packed up and moved us to
God’s country. Thanks to my parents’ involvement in the local church, I heard the Gospel early
and gave my life to Jesus at age nine. As the oldest of three, I became a people-pleaser,
believing I had to earn God’s love through works rather than grace. Though I had the head
knowledge of the Gospel, my heart struggled to receive it. Trying to live a works-based faith left
me anxious and exhausted, constantly afraid I’d lose God’s love. It wasn’t until my college years
at Texas A&M (gig’em always!) that everything changed. Through joining a community group at
Restoration Church, I came to understand my deep need for Jesus and the unearned gift of His
love. As I let go of people-pleasing and pursued the Lord sincerely, I felt a shift. My plans for a
career in healthcare gave way to a calling in ministry, where I could serve with purpose and use
my talents to further the good news of Jesus Christ.
Some fun things about me are that I love any chance to go on a little adventure, I do in fact
bleed maroon, and I have never not been in the mood for good Mexican food! Lastly, a verse
that keeps me grounded is “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
” 1 John 4c.
