I grew up here in the DFW area, and through the Lord using the faithful discipleship of my parents, I came to a saving faith at a young age. However, I didn’t know what it looked like to practically walk with the Lord. As my head knowledge about Him grew, so did deep traps of people-pleasing, performance, and legalism. But when I was fourteen, the Lord used a serious sports injury to display to me once again my deep brokenness and need for Him. It was through this time of needing to be physically still for recovery that I started to more fully understand how there is not a single thing I can do to work, maintain, or even earn more of God’s love or acceptance. It is because of His unchanging character and my union with Christ, that these have already been fully and completely lavished upon me.
The Lord then in His kindness allowed me to spend four years in College Station at Texas A&M University (Whoop!). It was during my time in college, that the Lord started to open my eyes to the importance and joy of being involved and known in the context of a local church as well as give me a deep love for studying scripture and discipleship. After I graduated, I moved to Dallas and started the Watermark Institute! Now, I get to serve on the same team that I was a resident on while in the program, and I am so grateful. In my free time, you can find me spending time outside, reading a book, or trying to plan out my next concert to go to.
