I was born in Oklahoma, but claim the great state of Texas, as I was raised in Allen. I am blessed with an amazing family who raised me in church and have loved and supported me so well. I accepted the Lord in elementary school, and was at church anytime the doors were open, but it wasn’t until college at Louisiana Tech University (go dawgs!) when I truly took my relationship with the Lord seriously. I was involved in a great Christian ministry where I learned about the importance of community, accountability, confession, and what walking with the Lord looked like. I majored in Family and Child Studies and LOVED my major. I wasn’t sure exactly what the Lord had next for me after graduating, but I have always had a huge passion for kids, so I knew I was where I needed to be.
While in college, a friend asked me if I had ever heard about Watermark, and I told her I hadn’t. After graduating, I moved back to Dallas and longed for community. After attending The Porch for a year, I decided I wanted to jump in at Watermark to get connected, serve, and join a community group. Fast forward 4 years, it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life!
Looking back now, I am so grateful for how the Lord wrote my story and ordered my steps to bring me to Watermark and have been so thankful to meet so many incredible people here. Prior to joining staff, I was an Elementary Special Education teacher for 5 years, and it was a joy to get to watch my kiddos learn and progress over the years. I learned so much about myself by getting to be their teacher, and I will always be grateful for those years.
In my free time, you will find me hanging out with my family, playing games with friends, spoiling my goldendoodle Malley, playing and watching sports, and eating Chick-fil-A.
I hope to get the opportunity to meet and get to know you!
