I was born in Tyler, Texas, grew up in Oklahoma, but got back to Texas as soon as I could! We were a musical family…think Partridge Family…and learned to play the piano and drums early on. I was blessed with godly parents and trusted Christ when I was 5 years old.
I attended Oklahoma State University, spent a year in Kyoto, Japan and attended law school at the University of Oklahoma. I married my childhood sweetheart and best friend, Kristie, and we have two amazing boys, Hayden and Hunter. They keep us learning and laughing!
I spent almost fourteen years as a litigator. Through God’s patient pursuit and a course correction in theology, I learned that the Christian walk was primarily about the “do’s” and not the “don’ts” and, by God’s grace, caught a vision of the “adventure” that awaits when we partner in God’s redemption work around the world and across this city. Ultimately, that led me to join the staff here at Watermark in 2008, as the Director of External Focus, where I am having the time of my life, helping others understand how they can deploy their gifts, skills, and passions to bring honor to God and service to their community.
I love all kinds of music (a new passion for vinyl records), reading, and jumping in with whatever my boys are up to at the moment (right now, that’s ping pong!).
