I’m East Texas born-and-raised – growing up in the church and around Jesus for most of my life. However, I never knew God as my Lord or Savior until my High School years, when the things I had been putting my identity into – friends, passions, learning – no longer satisfied me. As I navigated through depression and a lack of identity, I found myself serving at a children’s camp with my church where I witnessed a group of kiddos from various backgrounds come to understand their savior for the first time. They experienced a joy that I hadn’t felt before and because of what God did in their lives those few weeks, I began to realize what He’s done for me too!
Afterwards, I went on to Baylor University (Sic ‘Em, Bears!) and felt a growing stir to full-time ministry through my time in school, at my church, and through Pine Cove City. In conversations about my best next step, the Watermark Institute became the clearest option, and it was there that I met my now wife (and mom to our son!), fell more in love with Jesus, and more convinced that He has great plans for His church.
