Hi y’all, I hope this finds you well! My name is Dyann, pronounced Diane, like the song “Jack and Diane” or like the famous journalist, Diane Sawyer. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and so by default, I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and Dallas traffic!
I grew up going to church believing that good things happen to good people, but I didn’t fully comprehend who Jesus was. In 2012, my brother died unexpectedly, and in three short months the Lord brought me back to Him by giving me a peace I couldn’t explain and a freedom that I never knew was possible (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a degree in communications. After college, I moved back to Dallas and started working for a public relations and crisis communications firm.
In the summer of 2015, I was first introduced to Watermark through a Young Adults Ministry called The Porch. I now have the honor of serving the young adults of The Porch by planning fun events and weekend alternatives to give young adults opportunities to share the good news of the gospel.
I never thought I would leave the corporate world or the “American Dream” behind, but the Lord stirred my affections and captured my attention when an opportunity arose to serve the body of Watermark full-time as the External Focus Mobilization Assistant, inviting and inspiring members to serve outside the walls of the church.
In my spare time, you can find me fast-forwarding through TV shows and movies, spending quality time with family and friends, being a foodie and brunching, bursting out into song or dance, traveling, attending concerts, and enjoying new experiences.
