Meet Abby

Born and raised in a Christian home here in Dallas, I could tell you a lot about who God is, but when I was young there was a large disconnect between my head and heart. I believed God to be a someone that was far off. I thought as long as I did enough ‘good’ I would be fine. Yet this left me in a constant state of striving, seeking approval from others, and overall unsatisfied with life. It wasn’t until I went to college, where I studied Art Education at the University of Kansas, that the Lord captured my heart. After joining a sorority, the Lord used a friend in the house to help me see my need for Jesus. She read God’s Word with me, walked alongside me, and helped me see the life changing reality of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

God used my time in college to reveal himself to me, deepen my relationship with him, and grow my heart for the world. College ministry had a huge impact on my relationship with Jesus and after graduating, I had the privilege of doing college ministry in South Africa for two years. Through this experience the Lord deepened my love for the local church and teaching the Bible to others. I then moved back to Dallas and did the Watermark Institute where the Lord grew my heart for kids ministry!

I love how God makes himself so knowable to us and yet we can never reach the end of knowing God. What a privilege it is to get to walk alongside families and teach the next generations truth about who God is. When I am not running around in the Kids Building, you can find me drinking copious amounts of coffee, reading, and making art!
