Where can I go from Your spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? The truth is, there is nowhere we can outrun the Spirit, the presence, the mercy, the love, and the grace of our Savior. Nowhere. 2 Timothy 2:13 declares, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself.” He cannot deny the finished work of the cross.
So why should we deny the power of that empty tomb that defeated sin and death forever? For those in Christ Jesus, there is no amount of faithlessness that can trump His faithfulness. No matter the sin, no matter the struggle, the hurt, the history — just as the prodigal son came to his senses and ran back to his father, the moment we repent and turn to God, we are no further from home than we’ve ever been. Better yet, we find He is chasing after us with arms open wide, to meet me us right where we’re at. Because He is faithful. And may that faithfulness beckon us to be faithful in return.
