An Advent study of the birth of Jesus

The Story Behind the Series

The “Born” series messaging ties “The Life of David” to Christmas Eve by highlighting the purpose of the Son of David’s birth. David’s humility makes him “a man after God’s own heart.” The humble heart of God is revealed through the arrival of His Son as a baby and the proclamation of His birth to shepherds in a field.

“Born” visually connects “The Life of David” to the Christmas Eve graphic by turning the day-time shepherd’s field imagery to night and using stitching to depict the Star of Bethlehem in a night sky. A hint of red thread is continued from the preceding series to point viewers again to the overarching message of Christ. However, gold thread takes over to give the graphic a warm and exciting tone and symbolize the royalty of the One true King, Jesus.

"Christmas is a reminder of the intensity and intentionality of God’s pursuit of us and the joy that comes from being found."
