I grew up in a Pearsall, Texas, a small town near San Antonio. My parents raised me and my older brother in a Christian household, and I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at seven years old. I am so grateful to have grown up in a church that I loved with parents who faithfully served the Lord. I had a deep love for God and his people from a very early age and I believe that God was preparing me for ministry even as a child. As I grew up, I began to face a lot of insecurity and fear, and instead of surrendering these things to the Lord, I tried to handle all of this myself, which led to self-sufficiency.
However, as a freshman in college at Texas A&M University, the Lord so kindly met me and clearly showed me that I could no longer carry these burdens by myself, and by the grace of God, I fully surrendered my entire life to Jesus. I experienced the power of God, and he set me free from the insecurity and fear I was living in! During that season, the truth of Romans 8:1 came to life for me and is a constant reminder of God’s forgiveness and heart for me. It says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” As my freshman year of college progressed, the Lord continued to work in my heart and gave me a desire to pursue ministry full-time. I changed my major to Communications, and over the next four years at A&M, the Lord blessed me immensely with incredible community and a church I loved. One of the most impactful aspects of my time in College Station was my involvement with Breakaway Ministries. My time serving with Breakaway grew my love for Jesus, his people, and even introduced me to Watermark!
After I graduated college, I moved to Dallas to complete the Watermark Institute which was by far the most enriching and impactful year of my life. God used the Institute to help me fall more in love with him, his Word, and serving his people. At the end of the Institute, I transitioned onto Watermark staff full-time as the Additional Care Coordinator where I get to care for kids and students with special needs. In my free time I love to go on runs, hang out with my cat, Auggie, and go to fun coffee shops with friends! The Lord has immensely blessed me, and it is my greatest joy to proclaim his goodness through this job at a church that I love!
