Meet Chase
I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas where I celebrated a Kansas City Royals World Series win, a Sporting KC MLS Cup, a couple Kansas Jayhawks National Championships, and a handful of Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowls. I came to know the Lord at Kanakuk Kamps when I was in 8th grade but struggled with a sense of performance and shame when I didn’t live up to God’s standard. In high school, a mentor helped illuminate the Gospel more clearly to me: that my obedience doesn’t earn love, I obey because he already loves me.
Throughout college at the University of Kansas, I served with Young Life and spent my summers serving at Kanakuk, but I constantly wondered how to reconcile my passion for ministry with my technical degree in Computer Science. I brought these questions with me as I came to the Watermark Institute, hoping to discern if my future would be in ministry or in technology, and the Lord graciously opened a door for me to do both!
Nowadays, you’ll likely find me playing pickleball, spikeball, or running. I may also be eating Tex-Mex or continuing trying and failing to find Texas BBQ that beats what they’ve got in Kansas City.
