I was born and raised in Dallas and am married to my wonderful husband, Cesar. Together we have two Australian Shepherds who keep life fun and adventurous.
I was born and raised in Dallas growing up in a lukewarm Christian home. We went to church, but whenever life became difficult or busy, it was no longer a priority. During high school, my parents experienced significant tension in their marriage because of financial hardship. As the pressure at home grew, I began to rebel. One poor decision after another eventually led me to a hospital bed, completely broken, at rock bottom, with nowhere and no one to turn to. Oh but God!
The police officer who responded to the 911 call stayed with me through triage. As a faithful believer, he shared the gospel with me, explained who Jesus is and what He accomplished on the cross, and prayed over me. It was the first time I truly understood the good news of the gospel. There in that hospital bed, I surrendered my life to Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
Over the years that followed, the Lord faithfully began rebuilding my life. He strengthened my relationship with Him through believers who invested in and discipled me. God also used Re:generation to bring freedom from the slavery of sin and to teach me what it means to be fully known and fully loved. Through that journey, He transformed the way I viewed my past. Instead of living in shame and hiding my story, I found peace in His redemption and became overwhelmed by His grace. My story is no longer one of failure but of God's faithfulness. Today, I have the privilege of sharing my testimony through my role at Watermark and by serving as a Re:generation leader. It is a joy to point others to the hope I have found in Jesus and to remind them that no one is beyond His redeeming love. To God be all the glory!
On my free time, you'll usually find Cesar and me exploring the outdoors with our two dogs, traveling to new states, or camping with our rooftop tent. We love experiencing new places together and are always looking forward to our next adventure.
