Meet Abbey

Howdy! Growing up in small-town, Texas meant also growing up in a small-town church. I understood all the morals and how to be a good kid but had no understanding what it meant to have a relationship with Christ. By the time I went to college at the loudest and proudest school, Texas A&M (thanks & gig’em), I had fully immersed myself in everything the world had to offer. I had everything I thought I’d wanted and there was still something missing.

I was exhausted. Convinced all my issues came from the town I was living in, I quickly moved to Dallas after graduating. Come to realize, wherever you go, there you are. I was heavy-laden and weary and as a last resort, walked into Watermark in April 2017. Through a “First Impression”, some incredibly faithful women, and the Lord’s absolute kindness, I fully surrendered everything to Him and watched him radically change my life.

Before joyfully hopping onto the team here, I spent most of my years in Dallas teaching high school math. I took a small break in 2020 to do the Watermark Institute; something the Lord used to grow a deep desire to walk in ministry, to continue to mold me into who I am today, and to introduce me to my sweet husband, James. These days, if I’m not at Watermark, you can find me in a National Park, hanging with my dog, Otis, or trying to find the best pizza in Dallas!!
