RISD Academy Backpack Drive
Through Watermark's partnership with Richardson ISD, local students will be equipped with new backpacks and shown the love of Christ in tangible ways this summer.
Backpacks can be dropped off on Sundays between July 1-31
What is the RISD Academy Backpack Drive?
RISD Academy hosts an annual backpack drive to support local students, and we have the opportunity to partner with them. During Every Generation July, we hope to provide 450 students with new backpacks and hygiene products, helping meet a practical need at a Title I campus while demonstrating the love of Christ to students and families.
How to Gift a Backpack
BUY A BACKPACK
Purchase a new backpack for a boy or girl in kindergarten through 6th grade. Choose one that is new and unused. Any brand is welcome, provided it’s age-appropriate and something a child would be excited to receive.
FILL THE BACKPACK
In the backpack, please include a reusable water bottle and a note of encouragement for a student and their family. Through God moving to inspire the generous giving of our members, Watermark is able to provide the school supplies necessary for each backpack. However, you can help in providing hygiene products such as hand sanitizer, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, or a hairbrush. See the full list.
PRAY
Before zipping the backpack closed, take a moment to pray for the student who will receive it. Pray that they would feel encouraged, supported, and valued as they begin a new school year. Pray that they would come to know Jesus and the hope found in him.
DROP OFF YOUR BACKPACK
Bring your filled backpack on Sundays between July 1–31 to the Watermark Town Center or the elevator by the Kids Welcome Desk. Our Local Outreach Team will distribute the backpacks to students at RISD Academy before the start of the school year.
