Reach the Unreached

Making disciples across the globe

We seek to understand God’s heart for the nations and His call for us to bring the Good News to people from around the world.

Pray. Give. Go.

Pray for God to stir your affections for the nations and pray for members who faithfully serve different people groups in our city or overseas. Consider giving your time, treasure, and talent.

We have many opportunities for you to sponsor children through trusted partners, go overseas short-term or long-term, or serve the nations in Dallas.

If you’re interested in getting involved with Global missions at Watermark, fill out our application below and a team member will follow up.

Our Mission Philosophy

1: A Focused Approach

Ultimately, we want to see believers in other nations thrive, not just recover from a natural disaster. We seek to meet spiritual needs along with material needs, connecting our “good works” with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We build partnerships to last with indigenous ministries that are effectively impacting their own cultures.

2: Working Together as a Church

Being on mission is a whole-life commitment. We believe that the Church is God’s “Plan A” for saving the world, so everything we do globally is in partnership with local, indigenous churches. We invest deeply in a few regions, and we coordinate short-term trips to serve with our partners in those regions. Our church body is involved from home through prayer, financial support, and specific projects that help strategically reach areas of need for our partners. Whether we are giving, going, praying, or sponsoring, we see international involvement as a chance to grow as disciples.

3: Individual Involvement as God Leads

We encourage our Members to discover, research, and build relationships with international ministries beyond our formal partnerships. By investing their time, talents, and treasures in ministries as God leads, our people are meeting spiritual and material needs in more than 10 countries worldwide.

4. Membership is Required for Trips

While we encourage anyone to invest in needs around the world, Watermark’s short-term discipleship trips are reserved for those who have chosen to go “all-in” with us through Membership. Why?

First, those who go are representatives of both Christ and our local body of believers, and they’re participating in projects and relationships that Watermark has been building for many years.

Second, we know that it’s important for people to have a community around them who can help process this opportunity, prepare, and pray for them throughout the process and during the trip.

Third, people need to serve locally before they seek to use their gifts and talents overseas.

Finally, we truly want to disciple participants through the preparation, the trip itself, and the follow-up after the trip. Membership is important for the commitment and accountability involved.

Core Values for Discipleship Trips

1. Partnering with Local Churches:

The Good News should always accompany good work – as we serve, we want to provide for others’ spiritual needs while meeting many other needs. We want to work through, empower, and support local (indigenous) churches and ministries.

2. Development:

We focus on developing people and restoring systems, not solely providing relief.

3. Discipleship:

As we seek to disciple others, international trips are a powerful opportunity to disciple our own people as well.

Local International

We believe life is a long-term mission trip and every day is a short-term mission opportunity.

Our local international ministry exists to reach the nations in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area by pointing them to Christ and connecting to them the local Church. We are reaching international students, supporting refugees, and serving our local international friends in unique ways.

Long-Term Trips

The term we use for individuals or families who are wanting to do long-term missions is “Goers”.

What is a "Goer"?

A Goer is an individual that has seen God's global plan portrayed in the Word to use His people to reach the nations, who has recognized that there is a need for those who know and serve Christ to take the gospel to unreached parts of the world, and who has chosen to pursue this difficult task of living among the lost (long-term) in these nations.

Who is called to be a Goer?

We believe that everyone is called to be a part of God's global purpose in some form. We see in the Bible that there are countless instances where individuals were directed to leave the place where they were living and go to a new land for the sake of the Kingdom of God. We also see many who went into their own city to preach the Good News to those who needed to know. Who God uses to "go", "stay", and "send" is completely up to Him, but what would it look like for us all to pray and ask if God wants us to go? We would love to pray alongside you as you say, "Here I am Lord, send me!" (Isaiah 6:8)

What do I need to know to become a Goer?

If you believe the Lord is leading you to play a part as the hands and feet in the nations, please know that you are not alone in your journey. This is what the Global TRAC team is for. If this describes you, please email trac@watermark.org and we will set up a meeting to get to know you!

Giving and Sending

Giving to international trips is what we call “sending”. By sending someone, you are partnering with Goers by sacrificing time, talents, or treasures for the work that Goers are doing among the unreached. This can look like financial partnership, prayer support, or even joining a team of individuals specifically dedicated to walking alongside a single Goer (known as Care and Connect Teams). Many of us will not have the role of being the hands and feet in another nation, but by becoming a Sender you are partnering with those who go, and you are partnering with God in the work He is doing around the world.
