New to the Kit or looking for helpful hints on how to use it? Check out the Kids Kit Tips and Tricks - Elementary Edition where we share detailed instructions about the resources below.

Our elementary curriculum builds on the biblical foundation laid for kids in preschool. We want elementary kids to see the excellent character of our all-powerful God and why He is the hero of every story. We do that by looking at 36 godly character traits – one per month – with weekly Finish Lines that teach kids about God, His Word, and how He can help us reflect His character to the world.

Our character trait for FEBRUARY is LOVE! Check out the Monthly Overview for a snapshot of everything we will be learning about this month.

More ways to have a great week of worship...

Use these activities to keep talking about and applying what you learned this weekend throughout the week.

Teacher: Meal Time

Read Psalm 136. As a family, write your own version of Psalm 136 to remind yourselves of how God has shown His love for you in your lives. How has He loved you by protecting and providing for your family? How do you feel knowing He knows all about you and still loves you anyway? Which of His promises remind you of His great love for you? Be sure to include, “His faithful love endures forever,” after each line.

Friend: Drive Time

Psalm 136:5-9 talks about God as Creator and how creating the sun, moon, and stars was one way He showed His faithful love. As you drive around this week, take turns pointing out things God made. Each time someone notices something, respond together like they did in Psalm 136, “His faithful love endures forever!”

Counselor: Bedtime

Pray and thank God for His love that never ends. Thank Him for creating the entire universe and also for knowing you intimately and loving you personally. Thank Him for all the ways He has loved you throughout your whole life.

Coach: Anytime

This month’s memory verse is very long, but it is a perfect summation of the definition of love. With that, you may need to practice the memory verse more frequently to help everyone memorize it. One way to creatively practice the verse is to create a song for it. Use your favorite music streaming service to find a tune to create a song. You can even create dance moves to help you remember the words in the verse. Get creative and try to come up with different versions for each new song that plays.

Prayer

Father, thank you for pursuing me intimately and lovingly my entire life. Help me to never forget that Your love never fails and Your protection is with me always.
