Hannah Lum

Production Administrative Assistant

Meet Hannah

I grew up in Waxahachie, TX in a Christian family. I accepted Christ at the age of 5, but it wasn’t until college that I began to make my relationship with Him my own. At that point, I knew I had to make a choice if knowing and loving Christ would truly mark my life going forward. In my first couple of years at Texas A&M (whoop!), I began to grow a deeper affection and dependence on Christ. Then life started to feel easy, and I thought maybe I didn’t need to keep doing all these “Christian things” to have a great life. I left my community and started living one foot in, one foot out of church. I fell back into placing my worth in the opinions of others and choosing the unsatisfying things of this world, just to fit in. By the end of college, I was overcome with anxiety and depression because of the shame I felt from living this double life.

After graduating in 2018, I moved to Dallas. I heard about The Porch in college and decided to attend in person. After attending for a while, I began to truly believe I could come to God as I was. I could come to Him broken and messy. I got plugged into a community group and started serving with The Porch in 2019. In this time, I became fully known and loved by those around me. I no longer felt like I had to hide my struggles, because the Lord’s power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). In this season, I also met my husband, Gordon, and we’ve been married since 2022!

After working in the corporate world for several years, I had a deep desire to use my gifts and talents to serve the Church. I’m so thankful for the privilege of now being part of the production team! In my free time you can find me spending time with my husband, cooking for friends, traveling, or going on walks with our dog.
