Solomon's Reign: Construction, Consecration, Confirmation and Consequences

1 and 2 Kings

The temple is constructed and consecrated, and God's covenant with David is confirmed with Solomon. Unfortunately, though Solomon has seen the faithfulness and character of God in his own life, his father's life, and in the preceding chapters, this passage shows his fall and folly, along with the consequences of his sin for all of Israel. These chapters give us great insight into the character of our God and the consequences of sin.
