Music is a powerful gift from God. The longest book in the Bible is its song book, the Psalms. Over 150 songs were recorded in Psalms, accounting for over 7% of the Old Testament. We also find Old Testament music in Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, and the writings of Moses. In the New Testament, we find Jesus and the disciples singing in Matthew 26:30 and Mark 14:26 and we see the Apostles' singing in Acts 16:25. The Apostle Paul commands the church to communicate with each other with songs in Ephesians 5:19. Finally, in Revelation 5, 7, and 15 we see that music is an undeniable part of heaven. Our lives today are also filled with music. The purpose of this series is to explore the ways that today's music can point us back to God and lead us towards a life that honors and glorifies Him.
