Camp Barnabas 2024

Located in southwest Missouri, Camp Barnabas is a Christian camp for individuals with special needs. Each year Watermark takes a group of high school students up to Camp Barnabas for a week-long experience of hands on, Christ-centered ministry. Students finishing up 8th grade (i.e. starting 9th grade in Fall 2024) have the option of serving alongside some current 9th graders as “Barnstormers” (work crew) and most students in grades 9–12 serve as “Missionaries” (one-on-one counselors). This is a unique, intense, and powerful experience serving others in the name of Christ.

All students currently in grades 9–12 (along with interested 8th graders) are invited to join us. Participants are not required to attend Watermark Community Church but must meet all of the following criteria: A) Follower of Jesus Christ, B) Willing to teach others about Jesus, and C) Willing to be spiritually accountable to Watermark and Camp Barnabas leadership.

Payment Options for Students

In an effort to make serving at Camp Barnabas more accessible to all students, we have a pay in full option, and we're introducing a new support raising option this year.

Option 1: Pay in Full

Students who prefer to pay their event cost in full can do so by submitting the full amount at the time of registration. This option provides convenience and eliminates the need for additional fundraising efforts.

Option 2: Support Raise

For students who may find it challenging to cover the entire event cost upfront, we're offering the option to support raise a portion of their total cost. Here's how it works:

  • Deposit: To secure their spot, all students are required to pay a $100 deposit at the time of registration. This deposit can be paid either on the registration page if you choose to pay in full, or it will be processed through the GoMethod system if you opt for support raising.

  • Support Raising: After paying the deposit, students have the opportunity to raise the remaining $375 of their event cost through fundraising efforts. This amount can be raised through various means, such as reaching out to family and friends, organizing fundraising events, or seeking sponsorships. The trip balance is due on May 22, a month before we leave for the trip.
If fundraising goals are not met by this date, you can continue to fundraise after, but the final deadline will be June 22.
** If fundraising goals are not met by June 22, students will need to cover the cost of their remaining trip balance.**

  • Account Setup: We will be utilizing the GoMethod system for support raising. Students will need to set up an account on GoMethod to track their fundraising progress and manage donations.

We're committed to providing support and guidance to students throughout the support raising process. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

A minimum initial payment of $100 is due upon registration, with full payment due by Thursday, June 14, 2024 at midnight.

If you need to cancel, the following cancellation schedule applies for those who pay in full:

  • $100 is non-refundable if canceled before April 5
  • $200 is non-refundable if canceled between April 5 and May 3
