Tuesday, May 5 is North Texas Giving Day. We are providing COVID-19 testing for the uninsured free of charge. Strengthen our efforts by donating to Watermark Health through North Texas Giving Day. Donations will go to covering the costs of testing, staffing, and supplies purchased to make this possible.

Watermark family, what an exciting time for Watermark Urgent Care and the body of Christ! The last several weeks have most certainly been trying, yet full of eternally impactful opportunities for God’s people to show up in the middle of trial. Below are some amazing updates about how God is at work that we don’t want you to miss!

COVID-19 testing

As the novel strain of the coronavirus has continued to spread worldwide, it’s become clear that widespread testing will be key in finding a long-term solution to COVID-19. Availability of testing allows for the correct diagnoses to be given, provides accurate public health information, and leads providers and patients to carry out best practices in limiting the spread to uninfected individuals.

We are excited to share with you that Watermark Health has opened a testing site on the Watermark Community Church Dallas campus.

The site will be open 10am- 4pm, Monday through Friday. No walk-ups will be seen this is a referral only site.

Our clinics have been able to provide excellent medical care to our community over the past 7 years through our partnership with Quest Care Medical Clinics, a division of Envision Physician Services. It’s through this relationship that God provided years ago, that we are able to offer this additional medical service to the city of Dallas.

As always, we want to make sure we are practicing good medicine, which means this site will be referral only through our partner clinics. Patients won’t have to leave their cars and will be tested with nasal swabs. These tests will be sent to a laboratory and the results will come back within a week. Our testing site will look no different than our clinics as far as providing spiritual care and support! We will be offering to pray for patients, give biblical counsel, and point to community resources for their other social and emotional needs.

Anyone interested in testing should start with a provider referral. If you are uninsured, please call our Watermark Urgent Care Clinics for next steps! All other questions about hours, location, and more can be answered at watermarkurgentcare.com/testing.

Continue to pray for our talented staff and volunteer pool of medical and pastoral professionals that will be working on this site and in our clinics in the weeks to come. All throughout scripture we see that God’s people are called to care for those around them. During this time of great need and uncertainty, the church has the opportunity to meet both physical and spiritual needs. Praise God!

Mobile Pop-ups

In addition to the new COVID-19 testing site, Watermark Urgent Care is hitting the road to bring medical care to even more of our city! The goal is to take services to parts of Dallas where healthcare isn’t as accessible.

We are working on taking this to a variety of our partners and are excited to work first with OurCalling to connect with more people who need medical care during this time. This will be an excellent opportunity to explore the needs of Dallas before our Mobile Clinic officially hits the streets this summer!

Continuing Needs

Watermark Urgent Care is still in need of N95 Respirator masks. These masks will continue to keep our staff safe as we serve our patients. Please bring them to the blue bins in the lobby of the West Tower at Watermark Dallas Campus between 9AM and 2PM.

Because of our body’s generous donations and contributions, we’ve been able to continue putting together care packages for those in the medical field. These individuals are uniquely serving our community right now and we want to continue to remind them of their value in our church body and community. Please consider purchasing something off the updated Amazon wish list.

If you’re looking for other ways to encourage friends and family serving in Healthcare:

  • We have a new meal train for our clinic staff! This has continued to serve as a simple and impactful way to bless them and will be even more helpful in the weeks to come with the new testing site. You can bring meals to individual houses, the Skillman clinic, or the COVID-19 testing site. New opportunities for meals or snacks at our clinics can be found HERE.
  • The Watermark Health blog is full of resources to encourage healthcare workers during this time. We put together this video and paired it with some processing questions that you can send to those in your life fighting on the frontlines.
  • If you are a medical professional- we want to serve you! Fill out this form and someone on our team will reach out to you.
  • Take care of their yardwork or other home needs
  • Offer to babysit – especially if you know their children will be home unexpectedly due to school closures
  • Help with the education of their kids
  • Send notes of encouragement
  • Discover other specific needs and meet them creatively!
Help Us Keep Reaching the Most Vulnerable

We still want to be thoughtful not to overload the health system unnecessarily, whether that is at Watermark Urgent Care, your doctor’s office, or local hospitals. If you are feeling sick, the Watermark Health team suggests using a questionnaire like the one from our friends at Medical City before assuming it might be COVID-19. Watermark Urgent Care has also provided some helpful resources to help discern if an office visit or staying at home will be your best next step.
