No Tread

My husband just put new tires on my car. Upon looking at them, he said “You should be able to stop now!” That’s when I realized how closely related my emotional status was to my car tires.

I’m sitting smack in the middle of a no tread season. You know what I mean? Worn down. Ineffective. Struggling big time as a mom, wife, and woman. The exhaustion is simply washing over me throughout the day. It's so obvious that I'm slipping through my days with no tread to slow me down, no help to get a grip, and get me back on track.

It's times like this that I'm so thankful for God's truths. I have to bathe myself in His words so I am not overcome by all that is happening around me. Psalm 23 is my go-to place for comfort in seasons like these.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul.

He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23 reminds all of us that God leads us, restores us, comforts us, prepares a place for us and anoints us.

Let those words speak to your heart today and know that, for those that have a personal relationship with Jesus, goodness and love will follow you all the days of your life.

If those words are not familiar, take time to write those words on your heart and be blessed! It's like fresh tread; instead of spinning your tires, you'll come to a firm stop at the throne!
