November of 2005 was my introduction to parenting and the beginning of the Mother-Daughter relationship with our girl. There have been many, many seasons and stages along the way and every one of them has come with new insights. During a past NEST talk, Nicole Sims very clearly walked through the following stages of raising girls:
- Care and attachment. In this stage your daughter is asking "Am I loved?"
- Connecting. In this stage she is asking "Can I trust you?"
- Guidance. In this stage she is asking "Is your world view worth following?"
- Mentoring. In this stage she is asking "Are you still relevant?"
