New to the Kit or looking for helpful hints on how to use it? Check out the Kids Kit Tips and Tricks - Elementary Edition where we share detailed instructions about the resources below.
Our elementary curriculum builds on the biblical foundation laid for kids in preschool. We want elementary kids to see the excellent character of our all-powerful God and why He is the hero of every story. We do that by looking at 36 godly character traits – one per month – with weekly Finish Lines that teach kids about God, His Word, and how He can help us reflect His character to the world.
Our character trait for June is DILIGENCE! Check out the Monthly Overview for a snapshot of everything we will be learning about this month.

Use these activities to keep talking about and applying what you learned this weekend throughout the week.
Teacher: Meal Time
At dinner this week, take time to talk to your kids about what they think it means to focus on their work until it’s done and why that is important. God is glorified when we choose to do the work He gives us to do, no matter how long it takes, if it’s easy or hard, or if you’re tempted to get distracted by other things. How might their dinner be different if someone had not diligently prepared it for them? What if the food was only half cooked? We can glorify God even in the small tasks He has for us when we focus on our work and do it for Him. Remind your family of our memory verse this month, 1 Corinthians 15:58. Go around the table and have each person say one word from the memory verse. Continue taking turns until you have said the entire verse.
Friend: Drive Time
This week we learned about Noah working diligently to build the ark and honor God. See how many animals you can spot as you drive with your family this week. Name the animal and see if anyone in the car knows a cool fact about that animal. Take some time to thank God for saving each type of animal you spot all those years ago on the ark!
Counselor: Bedtime
What is one thing you know you need to have diligence to focus on and finish this week? Remember: God cares more about our hearts than our task and the time it takes to do it. Pray and ask God to help you consistently work with all your heart to bring Him glory this week. Ask Him to help you focus on it until you are done and thank Him for giving you what you need to do His work.
Coach: Anytime
Take time this week to learn how to play a new game as a family. This could be a new board game or a yard game. Learning a new task is never easy, but we can practice diligence by learning the rules and steps for the new game. Practice this game a couple of times until everyone understands how to play. Most importantly, HAVE FUN TOGETHER!
Prayer
Thank God for always giving us what we need to do His work. Ask Him to help you focus on your work until it is done this week as a way to glorify Him.
