New to the Kit or looking for helpful hints on how to use it? Check out the Kids Kit Tips and Tricks - Elementary Edition where we share detailed instructions about the resources below.

Our elementary curriculum builds on the biblical foundation laid for kids in preschool. We want elementary kids to see the excellent character of our all-powerful God and why He is the hero of every story. We do that by looking at 36 godly character traits – one per month – with weekly Finish Lines that teach kids about God, His Word, and how He can help us reflect His character to the world.

Our character trait for December is PURITY! Check out the Monthly Overview for a snapshot of everything we will be learning about this month.

More ways to have a great week of worship...

Use these activities to keep talking about and applying what you learned this weekend throughout the week.

Teacher: Meal Time

Read Luke 2:1-20 together. What did God promise that He would do when Adam and Eve sinned in Genesis 3? (God promised to send a Rescuer who would defeat sin and save people from their sins.) How did God fulfill His promise? (Jesus came to earth as a baby so that He could live a perfect life and die for our sins.) What did the shepherds learn about the newborn baby from the angels? (He was the promised Messiah.) What was the shepherds’ response to this news? (They rejoiced and told everyone what they had seen and heard.) How can we rejoice over the good news of Jesus’s birth and life like the shepherds?

Friend: Drive Time

Drive around looking at Christmas lights together! Can you imagine if all the electricity in your city went out and it was completely dark for months and then, one day, everything just lit up? That’s kind of what the world was like before Jesus. Talk about how Jesus is the light of the world and how you can share that truth with friends who may not know Him!

Counselor: Bedtime

Take time to pray and thank God for coming to earth as a baby and living a pure life, so He could be a perfect sacrifice for you. Thank Him for the work He has done and continues to do in your life. Ask Him to give you chances to share His amazing news, just like shepherds did the first Christmas.

Coach: Anytime

It’s not too late to start an Advent guide with your family this year! Check out our Watermark Family Advent Guide. There is Scripture reading and a short devo every day you can read together. Also, at the end of the pdf, you’ll find pages of ornaments which you can decorate daily and hang on your tree or around your house to remind you of God’s great story of Christmas!

Prayer

Father, thank you for your son who lived a perfect life and died on the cross for my sin. Please provide me with more opportunities to share the great story of Chrsitmas.
