Today in II Peter 2 Todd reminded us that in our culture of tolerance and false teaching, believers are to be heralds of righteousness who are full of both grace and truth.
- Proverbs 27:6 says " Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." In what situation have you recently counseled others with words full of grace but lacking in truth?
- Give an example of a time that you have grown when a faithful friend spoke hard truth to you with kindness.
- Ephesians 4:14-15 reminds us that "We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ." What steps will you take to grow in your knowledge of God and His word so that you can stand firm and hold fast to the truth in love?
- Todd encouraged us to pray that the Lord would break our hearts and give us compassion for those who don't trust in His provision. Who in your life needs to hear that God is good, He loves them and He has made provision for them to be saved from the coming judgement?
