Financial Catalyst: Spring 2021

Financial Catalyst is an opportunity to experience the change that Jesus can bring in our perspective of finances.

Financial Catalyst is a financial literacy class taught through a gospel centric lens. The two key themes are: Jesus is making all things new and God has chosen to use our money to accomplish His work in the world. Throughout the 9-week class, many topics are covered including budgeting, expense tracking, saving, and building productive assets. The curriculum used, Faith & Finances, was created by The Chalmers Center. It is facilitated by Watermark members serving through the Watermark Community Development Corporation.

Upon completion of part one, stewards (participants) have the opportunity to apply for part two, Accelerated Savings IDA program, if other qualifications are met. Accelerated Savings IDA is 15-month discipleship program meant to encourage application of the principles and practices learned in part one of Financial Catalyst to daily life. An ally (coach) is assigned to the stewards to encourage a deepened relationship with Jesus, to counsel wisely on setting financial goals, to provide accountability as money is saved towards a qualifying asset, and to help in the decision making processes.
