In 1999, a group of friends and I desired to be the same awe-inspiring community that we saw in the Scriptures and to connect God's people with opportunities to know Him deeply and serve His Kingdom fully. We wanted to see the local church be the place of hope, encouragement, and light it was supposed to be in our increasingly chaotic world. Rather than stay discouraged at the compromise and mediocrity that defined so much of our "church" experience, we decided to give our lives to pursue God's vision for His people together.
Our local expression of this mission is called "Watermark," and prayerfully, we seek to leave a "mark" on our city and culture that honors God and inspires His people to continue to do the same. God is still in the business of changing lives, and we pray continually that a watching world would come and see the richness of life that comes when friends that are deeply committed to one another get to live on mission together.
Though I love to serve others through speaking and writing (Come and See: Everything You Ever Wanted in the One Place You Would Never Look, October 2017), I am most humbled and grateful that He would allow me to serve Him primarily with my friends at Watermark.
My wife, Alex, and I love the privilege of being parents to six kids and all the friends and relationships that come with them.
