Meet Kelsey

Born and raised in Oklahoma but from as early as I can remember my grandma called Texas “the promised land,” so as soon as I graduated from Oklahoma State, I moved to Dallas to see what all the hype was about!

I came to know Christ towards the end of high school when I realized that the self-centered, pleasure-seeking, and shallow life I had been living was void of any real joy. It wasn’t until college that I began to understand what a daily, abiding relationship with Jesus looked like. Through the faithfulness of mentors at my church I began being discipled and taught the Word of God! It came alive to me (because, duh, it is living and active) and I’ve never been the same. I became enamored with God’s word, discipleship, and the local church! I sensed God’s call to pursue vocational ministry and ended up doing the Watermark Institute in 2018. My time in the Institute was nothing short of life-changing; for the first time in my life, I learned what biblical community looked like, how to have healthy conflict, and ultimately came to understand my sin and God’s goodness in a way that I never had before.

After my time in the Institute, I worked on staff for another, amazing church in Dallas doing women’s discipleship and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary. I also met and married my husband Nick during that time! In God’s kindness and provision, He led me back to Watermark to work for the ministry that brought me to Dallas and impacted me so greatly! I consider it an honor to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12) with the Watermark Institute!
