African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries (ALARM) is an African-based ministry that serves eight Central African Nations in a variety of ways. Watermark has partnered alongside ALARM in Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan and Uganda.
Our specific focus with ALARM has been helping train African pastors, community leaders, women leaders, and lawyers in biblical conflict resolution, servant leadership, biblical justice, trauma healing, parenting, and caring for widows and orphans. Watermark has also had the chance to help build water wells, establish a technical school, and sponsor orphans through ALARM.
You can get a great picture of what's been happening through blog posts from past trips at watermarkblogs.org/africa (use the links on the side to choose past ALARM or Ethiopia trips).
There are several ways individual members can get involved with ALARM:
- Sponsor education and discipleship of an orphan through Orphan Care (click here)
- Financially support the establishment of water wells, helping provide clean water and provide relational outreach to African communitiies (click here)
- Participate in a Discipleship Trip to Central Africa (click here)
