Ryan Nixon

Community Director

Meet Ryan

As someone who is experiencing God’s transformative love, I exist to faithfully lead and shepherd others to do the same, so that they may love God and love others.

I was born and raised in Austin in a family devoted to the Texas Longhorns, but as it was time to go off to college, I was ‘plucked out of darkness and placed into the light’ of Texas A&M University! It was at A&M that I became best friends with my beautiful bride, Callie, and we have been married since the spring of 2006. We were blessed with three amazing kids, 2 daughters and a son.

I trusted Christ when I was a kid at a summer camp - the Lord used this ministry to help me grow in my faith as a camper and later grow in my love for discipleship as a staff member in college. After college, I attended a discipleship program before taking a role as the Area Director for a student discipleship ministry called K-Life for 5 years in the Highland Park area.

I came on Watermark staff in 2010, and I am humbled to be a part of this staff team. It has been a gift to serve with several of the ministries at Watermark, and an even greater blessing serving with the staff and leaders in those ministries. I am grateful to have served with our young adults at The Porch, our hospitality ministry called Frontlines, helping couples reconcile and grow in their marriage through re|engage, and helping men and women find healing and recovery through re:generation. Now I have the privilege to shepherd married and men’s small groups through Community.

I am blessed to be a part of this local church, humbled to be a part of this staff team, and excited to see how God uses this local body of believers to redeem this city and this world for Christ!
