I grew up in Kansas in a strong Christian family. I professed faith in 1995 while my mom was praying with me at bedtime. I remember my faith “becoming real” later on in 2003, when my parents decided to leave the church we had attended all my life. That situation forced me to acknowledge that, if I wanted to know the truth about the situation at church, I had to know the truth of God’s word. That was the first time I read the Bible and prayed to ask the Holy Spirit for his help to understand. It was such an amazing realization that God wanted to teach me and wasn’t keeping secrets or hiding the truth. If he really wanted to teach me—I wanted to know him!
Since then, I’ve grown in my faith through confession and repentance, walking with God in serious illness, stepping out in faith to move to Dallas when I didn’t know anyone here, and working with the homeless in downtown Dallas. Jesus has convinced me of his goodness, and I want to share the good news with everyone!
I married Jonathan, the love of my life, in 2016. We met at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he got his ThM, and I got a master’s in media and communications. Jonathan and I love tacos, Korean food, coffee, deep conversations, and playing Fantasy Football every fall.
