I am originally from Kansas City, KS, but loving every minute of the Texas heat and sunshine. I accepted Christ when I was six years old in Vacation Bible School. From a young age I would attend church with my family on holidays and some Sundays, but that is all it seemed to be: Attendance. A slow drift occurred as I saw myself seek to be enough through accolades, approval, and popularity. I was 17 when I finally handed all striving over to Jesus. My time became less about trying to earn approval and more about accepting the approval gifted to me through Christ’s death and resurrection.
It was getting plugged into biblical community and a local body at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) that catapulted me into years of growth, refinement, heartbreak, and healing. I spent more time than ever living out my faith, accepting the freedom I had from sin, and learning daily surrender. As time flew by and graduation quickly approached, I realized moving back home without community would lead to spiritual apathy. I’d heard about Watermark from camp friends early in college and started listening to The Porch podcast. It was a no-brainer for me that, to live a faithful life after leaving college, I needed to put myself among faithful people. In February of 2020, I made the move from Kansas City to Dallas.
Over the last few years, I have seen the Lord provide for me in ways I never could have imagined. I was plugged into my local body like never before, making friends, serving within The Collective, being fed through Sundays and The Porch, and I experienced the Lord transform me from the inside out. I learned what it looks like to be a part of a church family and the ways God wants to use my brokenness of finding worth in the world to help break the chains of others.
Now, I get to come to Watermark every day to work with our graphic designers and photographers to help tell the stories of how God is breaking His people free from the chains of sin and shame.
Fun Facts: I love butterflies, yellow, disco balls, sunsets, and ice cream. I enjoy biking around White Rock Lake any chance I get. You can find me wearing a jean jacket and drinking an iced latte 99% of the time.
