I grew up in Houston, Texas, where I learned about God, but never saw or understood what it meant to follow Him. I spent years of my life desperately seeking the love and approval of others and satisfaction in worldly things only to be left feeling broken and hopeless. It was through that hopelessness that God allowed me to finally see who He truly was. God surrounded me with people who told me of God’s love for me, and the summer after my junior year of high school I experienced that love firsthand, put my faith in Jesus, and I’ve been running with Him ever since.
A couple of years later I made the move to Dallas to attend a small university in Irving. While I was there, I had the opportunity to intern for a church in their children’s department and I felt a clear calling from the Lord to pursue vocational ministry within the local church. To pursue that calling, I transferred to Dallas Baptist University where I learned about an amazing children’s ministry program called Training Ground at a church called Watermark. It wasn’t long before I was serving there and attending Watermark regularly. Over the next few years I continued to get more involved until God opened the door for me to join the Watermark staff in 2019.
You can usually find me spending time with friends, playing games or serving somewhere in the Kid’s Building. It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord continues to show me more of His love for people and all the way’s He is working in their lives. I love being able to work alongside my closest friends and feel truly blessed to be a part of the work God is doing through this local body of believers!
