My name is Martha Illarramendi, I have the honor and privilege to be part of the Watermark en Español team and serve in many ways within the ministry. My husband, Ivan (a Community Group Director go check out his bio =) ) and I are originally from El Paso, Tx but have called Dallas home for the past 9 yrs. We are parents to three of the most amazing, crazy, funny, and full of life kiddos Ivan, Sofia and Iker. We count our self’s blessed to get to be their ambassadors for Christ and believe that this is one of the ways the Lord has allowed us to know Him more.
I came to the Lord at a really young age (9), but not really knowing what a true relationship with the Lord meant I lived a lukewarm faith. Because the Lord is kind and gracious, He allowed me an opportunity to serve him in many ways as I was growing up. We truly consider the transition to Dallas as a blessing because even though both my husband and I have known the Lord from a really young age, it wasn’t until we arrived at Watermark that we understood the difference between “knowing God and having a personal relationship with our amazing, loving, and caring Father”. Through God’s redemption and abounding grace, I get to have a new life in Him, free of people pleasing, control, depression, suicidal thoughts and shifting my eyes and heart from wanting to create idols from things around me to Him.
The Lord used Watermarks marriage ministry re|engage to save my marriage and reminding me of who the real hero of my life is. I have had the opportunity and privilege since then to serve with many ministries around here where I have gotten to serve our English and Spanish speakers from around the DFW area. I would have never thought the Lord would bring me to serve Him in fulltime ministry I love the fact that I get to see Him work firsthand day after day. If you hang around us at Watermark en Español long enough you will hear us, say “One Church, Two languages” which is what we are. We love the fact that we get to experience a small part of what we know heaven will look like one day here on earth. (Revelation 7:9-10.)
If you ever find yourself visiting the DFW area or live here and have not found a home church, we would love to invite you to come say hi.
