I was raised in a loving, Christian home in the Chicago area. When I was in fourth grade, my little brother passed away from Leukemia and I felt very close to God as He comforted me during that time. However, I didn’t fully understand my need for God’s grace until I felt the weight of my own sin in my early adult years. I am grateful for God’s sovereignty over my life and that He never stopped pursuing me. Eventually, I realized I could not just trust Jesus as my savior, but I also needed to accept him as Lord over my life.
I got my degree in elementary education and special education and spent the first years of my career as a classroom teacher. During that time, I was able to share the gospel with my students by creating Vacation Bible Camps over the summer. That is when I first felt a pull towards leaving public education and pursuing children’s ministry.
After I married my husband, Josh, he got a new job that led us here to Dallas. When we were looking for a church home and found Watermark, I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me to take my teaching experience and use it for God’s glory. I am so grateful to be a part of a children’s ministry that faithfully proclaims the gospel and helps kids come to know more about who God is and His great love for them.
