I was born and raised in Southern California, but I’ve called Texas my home since 2012. I stepped off the plane during college tours, and even in the hot, sticky humidity, I knew I had just landed where I truly belonged. I attended Baylor University (sic ‘em!!) and graduated in 2016 with a BBA in Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. While at Baylor, I met my husband, Tim, and after almost five years together, we got married in December 2017!
Tim has influenced my testimony more than any other human. When I met him, not only was I not a believer, but I had experienced such negative interactions and hypocritical behavior with Christians in the past, I had no intention of pursuing Christ or Christianity. Every Christian I knew was talking the talk, but not walking the walk. (1 John 3:18) Tim was different, and I noticed that immediately. We had our first date on a Thursday, and he asked me to go to church with him that Sunday. I really only agreed because he was so cute, but we attended Highland Baptist Church in Waco that first weekend of our relationship, and my entire life was changed. I had never heard a sermon that spoke more to my soul, or met Christians that were more genuine in their faith. Since then, I’ve been inspired by my husband to love others well and to live out the gospel in everything I do. That cute guy’s invite to church sparked the journey to where I am today, chasing after God in a full-on sprint, desiring to learn more about Him daily, and opening my heart to a personal relationship with my Savior. So… you can’t say missionary dating never works!!
Upon graduation, I began a career in Corporate America, but soon found that I wasn’t passionate about climbing the corporate ladder. I’ve always struggled with knowing “what I want to be when I grow up” and during my first few years post-grad, I felt more at odds with this question than ever before. I gave it up to God, which lead me to begin feeling called to vocational ministry, and I decided to trust God’s plan for my career (which is so hard to do for someone who loves planning & control as much as I do). After many prayers and conversations with my community, I took the leap of faith and have never felt more at peace in my career. I am thrilled to be a part of the Operations Team, and can’t wait to see all that God does through us, behind the scenes.
