I grew up just a few minutes down the road from Watermark in Coppell, TX, but didn’t walk through the doors for the first time until I was 22 years old. I accepted Christ at the ripe old age of 4, and spent the next 20 years wrestling with what it really meant to know and follow him.
The Lord made it clear pretty early in my life that music would be the avenue he’d use to teach me and use me – whether in a congregation full of people, or in my own living room all by myself. I spent four years growing like crazy in music at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, but it wasn’t until I moved back to Dallas that the Lord really grabbed my heart.
I finally recognized what a lukewarm believer could be, and quite honestly, she was staring right back at me in the mirror. Since then, God has used both trial and joy to draw me in and teach me to fear him above all things. I went through Watermark’s Residency Program from 2016-17, and now I find myself surrounded by my favorite people all day every day, seeking to do nothing but be faithful with the gifts and mercies we’ve been given each morning.
