Hey y’all! My name is Natalie. I have a new life in Christ, and it has been a dream of mine for a few years now to be on staff at Watermark Community Church. Look at how God works!
I grew up in Arlington, TX in a loving family who went to church sporadically. I went to some church camps growing up and heard the gospel shared several times. However, I had no idea what it meant to have a relationship with God and follow Him. Naturally, when I moved away for college at Texas A&M University (everybody say WHOOP!), I pursued everything college had to offer: partying, boys, social status, approval, and success. I was living for myself and what the world said was right, which left me empty and broken. It wasn’t until attending a bible study my senior year of college that God started to open my eyes and soften my heart towards Him.
Cue graduation where I moved back to Arlington for the summer and a friend invited me to attend a random church with her in Dallas. Knowing nothing about it, I said yes. Immediately, I fell in love – not just with the church but the gospel. Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast”. It was in attending this church that I began to understand God’s love for me had nothing to do with my performance or what I could do for Him. He loved me unconditionally and that was proven by Jesus’s work on the cross.
Fast forward 6 years and I’m now on staff at that random church in Dallas! God has used my previous work experience at a non-profit along with the different areas I’ve served to prepare me for my current role on staff. Look at Him go!
Outside of work, you can catch me hanging out with my best friend and husband, John, and our two golden retrievers, Lola & Beau. When I’m not hanging with the hubs or the pups, you can find me on a walk listening to a good podcast, eating good Mexican food, having deep convos with friends, or dancing and singing (poorly) to the infamous Taylor Swift.
