The first major life skill I learned while growing up in Maryland was how to pick crabs. Being on or near the water is still my happy place, and I even raced sailboats for a time on the Chesapeake Bay.
When it came to faith, I knew all about religion but had no concept of a relationship with God. I eventually fell away and found my identity in traveling the world and other non-worthy things. That all came to a screeching halt when my brother died unexpectedly of cancer.
The Lord so faithfully and sweetly pursued me during the next few years of anger and grief, and showed me that He had been with me every step of the way. Through His grace alone, I found a new home in Dallas at Watermark and am humbled to serve on the Communications Team.
I continue to travel as much as I can. But now, I have a few sidekicks that join me: my malamute rescue dog, Kale, and my niece and nephew. Our little crew stays busy adventuring around Dallas and is always on the hunt for the funniest joke.
