Born and raised in the Lone Star State, and I’d have it no other way (#TexasForever). I grew up in Waco, TX with three other siblings. I have been married to my husband, Dean, since July 2017 and we have been parents since March 2019! In my spare time, you can find me outside, eating ice cream, or probably with people (#extrovert).
Growing up, I heard the Gospel taught consistently from an early age. However, it wasn’t until I was in middle school where my head knowledge became a heart belief, and I fully felt the weight of my sin but understood that I was saved by His grace alone through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Lord continued to use a small group I was in through KLIFE ministries to help me take ownership of my faith and teach me what discipleship looked like through small group leaders who embodied 1 Thessalonians 2:8.
I attended Dallas Baptist University, and I started coming to Watermark while in college. The Lord has used this place to help me realize my need for biblical community, redeem my view of the local church, and reveal my calling to make disciples and use my gifts for His glory. After graduating college, I completed the Residency Program through the Watermark Institute, and these were some of the best 10 months of my life. The Lord used that season of studying His Word to re-root my beliefs in Scripture and give me a biblical view of His character and heart for His people.
The Lord is so much more faithful than I can comprehend and getting to care for His people and shepherd His flock through the local church is one of His most gracious gifts in my life.
