I was born and raised in the Los Angeles-area but moved to Texas as quickly as I could (with a pit stop in Denver). I accepted Christ as my Savior at a young age in Sunday school, but my faith was focused on following the rules—mostly a list of things not to do. It wasn’t until I moved to Texas and began attending Watermark that I learned what to do—what it looked like to be a fully-devoted follower of Christ. The authenticity, community, and fun that I experienced attending Watermark showed me what the church could and should be.
I spent eight years working in local government management and intended spend my entire career in that field. I didn’t expect to ever work for a church. Churches generally don’t hire people with my background and skillset. I was content to be a leader and serve. But, God had other plans for me. It’s a joy to get to deploy my skills and gifts in operations to serve God’s Kingdom on staff at Watermark.
