I have the privilege of “working” (although it doesn’t feel like work) on the Young Adults team as the Digital Media Coordinator. How did I end up at Watermark? Simply by the Lord’s grace and kindness.
I grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida living the beach life and went to college at the University of Central Florida. After graduating, I continued chasing things of this world in hopes of fulfilling my pursuit of happiness. Success, relationships, career - I got all of the things I thought would satisfy me and it never felt like it was enough. God used that season of life to show me the empire I was trying to build for myself was like a mere sandcastle, and Jesus is the rock I can confidently put my hope in.
One day, a friend of mine sent me a Porch podcast and as I listened, I realized following Christ wasn’t something you do only on Sundays, but it should inform every decision you make. I listened to countless more Porch podcasts, and on a random trip to Dallas, finally had the opportunity to attend The Porch live. At The Porch, someone told me about the Watermark Residency Program. The very next day, I applied, was accepted, and moved to Dallas a few months later - #RezLyfe16! I now get to serve on staff and use my marketing background and heart for young adults to reach people through digital media.
I love my family, and out of everything in Florida, I miss them and the beach the most. I have three sisters that I love dearly – my identical twin Christen (who has since made the move to Dallas as well!), and younger sisters Jamie and Hannah. If I’m not at Watermark, you can find me playing outside - paddle boarding at White Rock Lake, finding a trail to hike, or chilling in a hammock listening to podcasts, music, or reading a good book.
