How did I end up at Watermark? Long story short: a little bit of serendipity and a lot of God’s sovereignty.
I grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida and later went to college at the University of Central Florida. After graduating, I was on a relentless pursuit of happiness and following the world’s lead on how to find it. Success, relationships, and career, I had all of the things I thought would satisfy me and it never felt like enough. God used that season of life to show me the empire I was trying to build for myself was like a mere sandcastle, and Jesus is the rock I can put my hope in.
During that time, a friend sent me a podcast from a ministry called The Porch. As I listened, I realized following Jesus wasn’t something you only do at church on Sundays but should inform every decision you make. I started binging The Porch podcasts and growing in my faith.
A year later, I got invited on a trip to Dallas and I was excited to finally attend The Porch in person. At The Porch, someone told me about the Watermark Institute. The very next day, I applied, was accepted, and moved to Dallas a few months later.
I now get to serve on staff and use my marketing background and heart for young adults to reach people through digital media. I ended up meeting my husband, Jacob, serving at The Porch and now we have a beautiful baby boy. If I’m not at Watermark, you can find me hanging somewhere outside with good vibes. I also enjoy a great podcast, Spotify playlist, book, or yoga pose.
