The Israelites' Request and God's Response

1 and 2 Samuel

Despite the Lord's faithfulness, the Israelites want a king "like all the other nations". In their request we see that they reject the Lord, refuse to listen to His wisdom and warnings, fail to remember His faithfulness, and refuse to wait... and we often do the same. The Lord grants their request and gives them Saul.
