Solomon's Strong Start

1 and 2 Kings

In 1 Kings 1 - 5, Solomon rises to the throne, requests a listening heart, and rules God's people wisely. The new King Solomon listens to his father's advice to "do the job the Lord your God has assigned to you by following His instructions." We learn that God has assigned each of us a role in His plan. To do the job He has assigned you by listening to the instructions found in His word results in authentic joy and contentment found nowhere else!
