This passage teaches us how to set our hearts up to humbly appeal to authority and how to respond as an authority when you have been wronged. This is the perspective we gain from being ministers of reconciliation. Being active in sharing our faith keeps our eyes on the cross. This focus is what really matters for eternity and gives us the compassion to "bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (Colossians 3:18)
