Right now, Watermark has about $6.5 million in the building fund and $13.2 million in total building opportunities across our Dallas, Fort Worth, and Plano facilities. $6.7 million opportunities are on hold pending resources.
Thank you for faithfully investing your life and resources here. May God continue to encourage you that this is a mission worth investing in!
Through our weekly worship services, we continue to see lives being changed, marriages being saved, children being discipled, and our city being renewed. Our mid-week discipleship ministries are exploding as re:generation, re|engage, and Men’s and Women’s Equipping continue to grow in number and excellence. With these great resources, we have more and more people coming to Watermark Plano every week and have seen God adding to our number daily those who are being saved through faith in Christ.
"And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47
As more people are drawn to God’s work at Watermark, our facilities must adjust and expand to meet those growing needs. Specifically, the following needs must be addressed:
In September 2014, we closed on a great facility that included 8 acres, 110,000 sq. ft. of space, and we secured a parking lease which allowed us to launch the Plano campus (Phase 1).
In November 2014, we were able to secure 4.4 acres of land to our north to ensure our long-term parking needs in the event our strip mall neighbor sells their property.
Over the last four years, we have been adding classrooms and other small projects to maximize our facility.
Build a mid-size multi-purpose room for both Sunday morning Connecting/Community use and for our growing mid-week ministry needs. Our current Stage 4 space, which currently hosts Student Ministries, re:generation, re|engage, Women’s Bible Study, and other ministries, is at maximum capacity and restricts the growth of these ministries.
Cost: Approximately $2 million
Create an inviting destination for Watermark guests, families, young adults, singles, and empty-nesters to gather together (serving the same purpose as the Town Center at Watermark Dallas). The plan includes an indoor/outdoor porch space, a kids' play center, and improved landscape on the north side of the building.
Cost: Approximately $1 million
To maximize our resources, the Watermark offices will be moved above the new multi-purpose room. The current office space will be renovated to serve as classrooms for kids on weekends, and as meeting space for community groups, students, and adults during the week.
Cost: Approximately $1 million
Watermark’s mission of being and making disciples will continue at full speed as we consider plans and prayerfully anticipate the provision of resources for Phase 2 of the Plano Campus.
We desire a response from 100% of our church family. As you consider your response to the needs before us, we ask you to:
All of us must listen and respond generously, and joyfully and — as Christ followers have done before us — give "according to and beyond their own ability of their own accord" (2 Corinthians 8:3).
Everyone matters. Every gift matters. We know from Scripture that in God’s eyes, the size of the giver’s heart matters more than the size of the gift.
"Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. and he said, 'Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.'" Luke 21:1-4
You can give online using the button below. Select One-time Gift or Recurring Gift and select Building Fund. If you are a Plano member or have registered for a Plano Campus event, your gift will be designated to the Plano Building Fund.
If you prefer writing a check, designate “Building Fund-Plano” on the memo line. You can drop your check in the giving boxes near the exits at the back of the Auditorium or mail them to 7540 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75251.
The Watermark Plano family will be asked to prayerfully steward its resources toward Phase 2 of the development of the Plano campus. Once a new campus is launched, the responsibility for the development and expansion of that campus rests largely with the membership of that campus.
Members of the body from Watermark Dallas, Watermark Fort Worth, and Watermark Plano have invested resources toward the launch of the Plano campus (Phase 1).
Eventually, we will relocate the main entrance to the north side of the building. Drop off for Kids’ Ministry will remain as it is today. We will eventually add parking to the north side of the building as well.
We plan to use the funds for Phase 2 to create space for connecting and equipping on the Plano campus, rather than parking. The lease with our neighbor to the south will allow time for Watermark to build a parking lot at a future date, within the timeframe of the exit clause of that lease.
Yes! This is a great opportunity for parents to teach their kids about generosity. Challenging kids and students to give will also build their sense of ownership in our church. Spend time as a family discussing some of the key Scripture passages about giving (for example, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Luke 12:22-34; Matthew 6:19-21). Brainstorm together creative ways the kids can be involved in raising money for Phase 2 of our building (which includes new play spaces for them!) Some ideas include garage sales, lemonade stands, deciding to give up something (eating out/cable TV/etc.) and giving away the money saved.
