Training Day - Spring 2017

Join us Saturday, April 1 for a morning of equipping! Four classes will be offered. Choose one class to attend.

Please arrive between 9:00 - 9:20 am in the West Tower 3rd Floor Lobby before going to your specific class. Classes will start promptly at 9:30 am and end at 12 pm. Specific classroom locations will be announced later and there will be signs at registration. The West Tower is the 8-story building next to the main building.

Cost: $10 (early registration) or $15 (day of registration)
Early registration ends Friday, March 31 at 11:59 pm.
Kids Ministry not provided.

Food: Breakfast, snacks, and drinks will be provided at no additional cost. Lunch will not be provided.

• Same Love?: Understanding What the Bible Teaches about Human Sexuality
Teacher: Nathan Wagnon
Description: An increasing amount of Christian authors and leaders are voicing their support for monogamous, same-sex relationships, causing celebration among some and confusion among others. So, what does the Bible teach about sexuality? Join us as we walk through Scripture to see if popular views supporting same-sex relationships measure up.

• Racial Reconciliation: A History, A Biblical Perspective, and a Response
Teachers: Oscar Castillo, Nika Spaulding, Christy Chermak, Jason McPhaul and Panel.
Description: Have you ever wondered what the Bible says about race and diversity? Have you sometimes wondered what the Church’s role should be in racial reconciliation? This class will answer these questions and many more as we look at the history of the American Church and racism, discuss Biblical passages which speak to race and diversity, and offer a chance to engage with a panel about issues affecting minorities today.

• The 7 “I Am” Sayings of Jesus
Teachers: James Romero and Leigh Ann Thompson
Description: Do you wonder what it means when Jesus says “I am the true vine” or “I am the bread of life”? In a world of various views about the identity of Jesus, the 7 “I am” sayings about Jesus reveal truth about the Savior. Join us as we unpack the 7 sayings from the book of John and discover timeless truths about Jesus Christ. You may be as shocked as the Pharisees were!

• How to Not Let Control Take Control (Women only)
Teachers: Gigi Hornberger and Brittney Mickunas
Description: Do you find yourself seizing for control because of fear, insecurities, pride, or past hurts? Do you wonder how you can live a life believing God’s in control of your circumstances? We are going to dive into what the Bible teaches about God’s guidance of our lives and how we can surrender to His care. Grab your friends and come join us for a morning of study and encouragement.
